The 32nd Asian American International Film Festival

20 July 2009 - James Boo

Paper Heart - Charlyne Yi and Nick Jasenovic - The Asian American International Film Festival
Some of you already know that I’ve been working over the last few months on the staff of New York’s Asian American International Film Festival. The screenings, workshops and parties all begin this Thursday night, and as a result I’ve been put out of commission as a food blogger for this week and possibly the next. Due to computer failure, Stephen will also be unable to publish his usual column from Majorca this Thursday.

The good news: Zach is still going strong; a new story from San Diego will be posted on Friday afternoon.

Even better: If any of you New York readers are interested in watching a film at AAIFF, I can get you in for free! I have a set of personal tickets (one per showing) that I’ll be too busy to actually use, and discounts on opening and closing night tickets that I’d be happy to offer for fans of The Eaten Path. My personal favorites are Li Tong, Hubad and Claustrophobia. Also recommended: Paper Heart, Tibet in Song, Whatever It Takes.

E-mail me ASAP if you’re interested in seeing a show at the AAIFF! All you have to do is let me know what you’d like to watch. The full film lineup is available at aaiff.org.
