Yeeeesssss, I’d like a moment alone with that bowl of gritsy butter. I forgot to mention that one reason my funnel cake failed was that I added some extra butter to the batter. About twice as much as it called for. Only then did I fry it in a deep layer of oil.

When I was a kid, (at least 50 years ago), all grits was yellow and, in my opinion, tasted better. Cant find in any NY supermarket these days. Tain’t fair:)
