Grits - Jodie’s - Albany, CA

The perfect bowl of grits is a lot like a bowl of melted butter with stuff inside it. That stuff is grits.

lol that looks delicious! I just got a few bags of hand ground speckled grits in the mail and I might have that for dinner…

Yeeeesssss, I’d like a moment alone with that bowl of gritsy butter. I forgot to mention that one reason my funnel cake failed was that I added some extra butter to the batter. About twice as much as it called for. Only then did I fry it in a deep layer of oil.

When I was a kid, (at least 50 years ago), all grits was yellow and, in my opinion, tasted better. Cant find in any NY supermarket these days. Tain’t fair:)

How difficult is it to make grits from scratch? http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/patc/grits/

Sounds like something worth exploring :)
